Stop the lead
in one press.

A short-stroke brake slider sits in a recessed track along the top of the shell — right under the thumb. The lead is flat woven nylon webbing, 3 or 5 metres, retracting into an egg-shaped ABS housing with a 9 cm grip cut-out.

The control

One control. One short stroke.

The slider is the only moving part on the outside of the housing. There is no second button to hunt for and no trigger under the handle — just the moulded tab sitting proud of the track, where a thumb falls when the handle is held.

The same shell also survives being put down in the wet: it is a single smooth ABS moulding, not a fabric-covered frame.

The reach

3 metres, or 5 metres.

Both lengths use the same flat woven nylon webbing, and both retract into the same housing. The 3 m version keeps a small dog close on a pavement; the 5 m version gives more room on open ground.

The supplier specifies the 5 m version for dogs up to 20 jin — about 10 kg. No equivalent figure is given for the 3 m version.

The right side of the shell is a large oval cut-out moulded straight through the housing — a 9 cm opening. The left side is a light-grey disc carrying one moulded pad and four toes, colour-matched to the body rather than printed on.

It is the detail that makes the housing look like a pet product rather than generic hardware — and it is moulded, so it will not wear off.

The hardware

The webbing is flat woven nylon, not a cord — so it sits flat against a collar and does not cut in. It runs out through a black moulded outlet fitting, through a plain black connector block, and ends in a chrome-plated swivel snap hook that turns freely on its own eye.
