A ceramic bowl, lifted off the floor.

White glazed ceramic with a moulded slow-feed pattern, held in a black wire cone stand so the bowl sits above the ground rather than on it.

Four moulded patterns, one 15 cm bowl

Flower, cross, big mouth and paw print. Each pattern is pressed into the ceramic rather than printed on it, so the shapes are raised and glossy like the rest of the glaze.

Choose the pattern as a look, not a function — the geometry behind all four works the same way.

Raised shapes, so a meal takes longer

The moulding is a ring of raised forms around a low centre. Kibble falls into the gaps between them instead of piling in the middle, so a portion has to be worked out a mouthful at a time.

The glazed surface rinses clean — no unglazed base for food to cling to.

A wire cone, so the bowl sits higher

A top ring the bowl drops into, straight vertical wires, and a wide bottom ring. The bowl's lip rests on the top ring, so it lifts straight out for filling and washing.

Because the base ring is wider than the top, the stand does not rock when a dog pushes into the bowl.

Served at a height, eaten slowly

Nuggets dropped in spread across the pattern rather than stacking in one place. With the bowl held above the floor, the dog reaches down into it instead of crouching over it.

Fill the bowl in the kitchen, carry it by the rim, drop it back into the ring.
